Treatment protocol The Mycelia were freeze-dried and ground in liquid nitrogen using a mortar and pestle.
Growth protocol Hypocrea jecorina CBS999.97(MAT1-2) wild-type and Hypocrea jecorina CBS999.97 (MAT1-2) env1 delet strain were inculated in the center of the cellophane-covered malt extract agar (MEA) plate and incubated in a plant growth chamber at 25℃ for 7.25 days.

Extraction protocol Total RNAs were extracted using TRI reagent® soln (Ambion), and purified using the RNeasy® plant Mini Kit (QIAGEN).

Label protocol Labeling was performed by NimbleGen Systems Inc., Madison, WI USA, following their standard operating protocol.(NimbleGen Arrays User’s Guide Gene Expression Arrays ,V6.0)

Scan protocol The protocol for scanning one-color NimbleGen arrays with a GenePix 4000B Scanner and associated software Genepix6.0. (NimbleGen Arrays User’s Guide: Gene Expression Analysis v3.0)
Data processing NimbleScan software (V2.6) was used to obtain raw data(.pair) and converte to gene expression value (.calls). Quantile normalization algorithm was used for normalization methods.
