Treatment protocol |
All patient samples were from newly diagnosed patients with multiple myeloma. Samples were collected before initiation of primary treatment and CD138 purified plasma cells were isolated. All patients received triple drug regime - Vincristine, Adriamycin, and Dexamethasone (VAD) - as induction therapy followed by Autologous Stem Cell Transplant (ASCT) as a maintenenace therapy. 'Treatment response' was measured post-ASCT. Treatment responses: Complete Response (CR); Very Good Partial Response (VGPR); Partial Response (PR); No Response, Stable disease (NR); No Response, Progressive disease (Prog).
