FAM labelled PCR and Applied Biosystems 3031xl automated fragment analysis of the CAG repeat expansion in the coding region of the DRPLA gene
(DRPLA) on chromosome 12p13.31. In most populations, normal DRPLA alleles have <36 copies of the CAG repeat. Pathological alleles contain 48 to 93
CAG repeats.
