Retinal macular dystrophy-4 (MCDR4) is characterized by late-onset macular degeneration, with multiple drusen-like deposits, macular geographic atrophy, and choroidal neovascularization. Patients also exhibit extensive retinal dysfunction with impaired rod function (Zhou et al., 2022).
