The sorghum plant bug, Stenotus rubrovittatus (Order: Heteroptera, Family: Miridae), is one of the notorious pest insects of rice in Japan, which feeds rice grains and causes pecky rice. In this study, to further understand the physiology and ecology of this host insect, we investigated the microbiota associated with the rice pest S. rubrovittatus.
