Abstract: The goal of this project was to increase the publicly available genomic resources for Nicotiana benthamiana. We therefore chose to produce gene expression libraries from 4 tissue sources; leaves, roots, floral corollas and developing seed capsules. The resulting transcriptome assemblies should benefit researchers who use N. benthamiana to study gene silencing and plant-microbe interactions, and they complement the recently-released draft genome sequence.
