| Summary |
Analysis of gene expression indTHP-1 cells infected with influenza A virus or Mock and treated with Itaconic acid (IA), or Dimethyl itaconate (DI) to investigate the effects itaconate have on transcriptional response in dTHP-1 cells.
We particularly looked at anti-inflammatory effects of itaconate in inflammation followed by Influenza A virus infection.

| Overall design |
THP1-1 cells were differentiated by phorbol 12-myristate-13-acetate. dTHP-1 cells were infected with influenza A viruses, or non-infected (Mock) for 12 hours. Infected dTHP-1 cells were pre-treated with itaconic acid, or dimethyl itaconate for 24 hours and then an additional 12 hours treatment along with IAV infection. RNA was extracted, and subjected to transcriptome profiling array Clariom™ S Assay, human.
