Title |
The transcriptomic response of bovine uterine tissue is altered in response to sperm from high and low fertility bulls |
Organism |
Bos taurus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
The aim of this study was to profile the transcriptome and perform histological analysis of the bovine uterus in response to sperm from high fertility (HF) and low fertility (LF) bulls
|
|
|
Overall design |
Post-mortem uterine biopsies and uterine explants were collected from nulliparous heifers after a fixed time artificial insemination (AI) to a synchronized estrus with frozen-thawed semen from 5 HF and 5 LF bulls. Uterine biopsies were also collected from control (CTRL) heifers which were not inseminated. Differential gene expression in these tissues was assessed using RNA-Seq.
