Title |
Gene expression changes in mouse hippocampus after overnight exposure to corticosterone |
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by array
|
Summary |
The aim of the experiment was to test the effect of elevated level of corticosterone on hippocampal transcriptome after 12 hours of treatment during active phase to mimic the effect of a day-long stress. Additionally, we also tested the decay time of transcriptomic response during resting period when the level of glucocorticoids returns to the baseline. Our study shows that transcriptomic responses to glucocorticoids are heterogenous in terms of the decay time with some genes displaying persistent changes in expression during 9 hours of rest.

Overall design |
This is an analysis of 48 hippocampal RNA samples. Vehicle and corticosterone-treated animals were compared at 3 time-points: 1, 5 or 9 hours post-treatment. There are 8 biological replicates in each comparison.
