Title |
The transcriptional dynamics of Ophryocystis elektroscirrha across its host's metamorphosis |
Organism |
Danaus plexippus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
The objective of this study was to quantify patterns of transcriptional differentiation that Ophryocystis elektroscirrha undergoes throughtout its host's metamorphosis.

Overall design |
We sequenced mRNA of homogenized monarch butterflies that we infected with Ophryocystis elektroscirrha. We sequenced two larval stages (third instar and 5th instar), two pupal time points (1 day after pupaitona and 6-8 days after pupation), and adults approximately 3-6 hours after they eclosed.
