Treatment protocol |
Growth of animals was at 25 degrees C on NGM plates with no added cholesterol. An overnight LB culture of E. coli OP50, washed 3 times with M9 buffer, was used to seed the plates. The bacterial lawn was allowed to grown overnight before use.

Seven independent synchronized populations of N2 and nhr-8(hd117) animals were grown from eggs on low cholesterol plates at 25 degrees C until mid-L3 larval stage and collected for microarray RNA expression analysis.
