Treatment protocol CD45+ hematopoietic cells from regenerating muscles were isolated with a magnetic bead selection (Miltenyi). Cells were labeled with PE-conjugated Ly6C and APC-conjugated F4/80 antibodies and then sorted into Ly6C+ F4/80low and Ly6C- F4/80high subsets.
Growth protocol Muscle injury was caused by cardiotoxin ijection into the tibialis anterior muscle. Macrophages were separated after 1, 2 and 4 days post-injury from the regenerating muscle.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Trizol extraction of total RNA was performed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Label biotin
Label protocol Ambion WT Expression Kit (Applied Biosystems) and GeneChip WT Terminal Labeling and Control Kit (Affymetrix) were used for amplifying and labeling 150 ng of RNA samples.
 
Hybridization protocol Samples were hybridized at 45 degrees Celsius for 16 hours and then standard washing protocol was performed using GeneChip Fluidics Station 450 (Affymetrix).
Scan protocol Arrays were scanned on GeneChip Scanner 7G (Affymetrix), Affymetrix GeneChip Command Console (AGCC) was used to obtain image files.
Description Gene expression data of muscle-derived macrophages
Data processing CHP files were generated using Affymetrix Expression Control.
Downstream data analysis was performed in GeneSpring GX 12, CEL files were imported using RMA algorithm and median normalization was performed.
