Immediately before and after the exercise, 6 ml of blood was sampled from the jugular vein of each horse in anti-coagulated tubes containing ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). The samples were centrifuged at 4℃ at 3,000 rpm for 10 min, and the subsequent leukocytes from the buffy coat area were collected using sterilized Pasteur pipettes.

Nanodrop spectrophotometer. The labeled cRNAs were subjected to the 4X44K Horse Gene Expression Microarray Kit, one-color, using the Gene Expression Hybridization Kit for 17 h at 65 ℃. The hybridized microarray chips were washed with the Gene Expression Wash Buffer Kit

The microarray chip was scanned using a DNA microarray scanner, and the raw signal density was acquired by using the Feature Extraction software. The threshold raw signal values were set at 1.0, and all raw signal values were normalized using a percentile shift (75th percentile).
