Treatment protocol After grinded under the ice, the tissues were collected for further total RNA extraction.
Growth protocol Esophageal carcinoma tissues and normal adjacent tissue were excised and stored at -80°C.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Total RNA was isolated using TRIzol (Invitrogen) according to manufacturer’s instructions. RNA quality and quantity were measured by using NanoDrop spectrophotometer (ND-1000, NanoDrop Technologies) and RNA Integrity was determined by gel electrophoresis.
Label Cy3
Label protocol Circular RNAs were amplified and transcribed into fluorescent cRNA utilizing a random priming method (Arraystar Super RNA Labeling Kit; Arraystar).
 
Hybridization protocol The labeled cRNAs were hybridized onto the Arraystar Human circRNA Array V2 (8x15K, Arraystar).
Scan protocol The hybridized arrays were scanned using the Agilent Scanner G2505C.

Tissues obtained from the patients by esophagoscopy or surgery.
Moderately differentiated squamous esophageal carcinoma.
Data processing Agilent Feature Extraction software (version 11.0.1.1) was used to analyze acquired array images. Quantile normalization and subsequent data processing were performed using the R software limma package.
