Extraction protocol Total RNA were extracted using TRIzol following manufacturer's procedures. Total RNA was quantified using a NanoDrop Spectrophotometer ND-1000 (NanoDrop Technologies, Inc.) and its integrity was assessed using a 2100 Bioanalyzer (Agilent Technologies).

Label protocol Labeling of samples was carried out according to the manufacturer’s standard protocol
 
Hybridization protocol Total RNA was linearly amplified using WT Plus (Affymetrix). The resulting ssDNA was used to hybridize Affimetrix microarrays. Hybridization data was acquired using the Affimetrix GeneChip/GeneTitan platforms. Transcriptomes were determined on a genome wide Clariom S Human HT (Affimetrix).
Scan protocol Arrays were scanned on a Affymetrix GeneTitan instrument (ThermoFisher Scientific-Affymetrix) according to the manufacturer’s protocol.
Description Clariom S, human HT
Data processing Affymetrix CEL files were normalized by RMA preprocessing methodology and analyzed using Bioconductor followed by GSEA 4.10 software from Broad Institute. Due to experimental protocol, the samples were ran in batches, indicated in the cel file name. ComBat was used to batch correct.
