Growth protocol |
Trophoblast stem cells were seeded at a ratio of 1.5 x 10^5 in 6-well plates and induced to form syncytiotrophoblast cells using a differentiation medium. After 5 days of differentiation, cells were infected or mock-infected with T. gondii RH: YFP (5 parasites/cell). For comparison, cytotrophoblast cells were seeded in a 6-well plate and infected or mock-infected with T. gondii at the same MOI used for syncytiotrophoblast cells.
