Change release date of SRA data and associated Project and Samples

A BioProject is an umbrella for all data submitted to the NCBI for a given study. Each BioProject can be associated with more than one submission in SRA.

CheckYou can change the release date of an unreleased BioProject in the Submission Portal's SRA Data Interface.

Exclamation point Changing the release date for the BioProject results in changing the release date of all associated BioSamples and SRA data across submissions (if data for this Bioproject were deposited in more than one submission).

  • Log into the Submission Portal's SRA Data Interface
     
  • Find BioProject of interest by browsing, searching, or filtering all your data

  • Click the BioProject Accession (PRJNA#) to display the BioProject page and click the button Edit

  • On the pop-up menu, select either Release immediately or Release on specified date (this will open a calendar widget); click Next
     
  • Provide additional accession numbers for any GenBank data for which you would like to change the release date (optional); click Submit
     
Exclamation point It may take up to 3 days for your submission to be searchable in Entrez. However, it will become public and searchable almost immediately in SRA Run Selector.
