Eighteen hours monoclonal antibody C7 exposure

(Submitter supplied) We have developed a monoclonal antibody (mAb) C7 that reacts with Als3p and enolase present in Candida albicans cell wall and exerts three anti-Candida activities: candidacidal activity and inhibition of both adhesion and filamentation. To investigate the mode of action of mAb C7 on fungal viability, we examined changes in the genome-wide gene expression profile of C. albicans grown in presence of a subinhibitory concentration of mAb C7 (12.5 µg/ml) by using microarrays. more...

Transcriptional comparison of C. albicans WT and ACE2 knockout strains

(Submitter supplied) Ace2 transcription factor family genes are found in many fungal genomes and are required for regulation of expression of genes involved in cell separation. We used transcriptional profiling to identify the targets of Ace2 in Candida albicans, and we show that these include several cell wall components, such as glucanases and glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored proteins. Expression is downregulated in ace2 deletion mutants in both yeast and hyphal cells. more...

1.5 and 3 hours macrophage exposure

(Submitter supplied) Purpose of the study The encounter between Candida albicans and phagocytes (macrophages) is considered the initial step in the development of host immune defenses. The single utility of proteomic and genomic approaches to study host - pathogen interaction has been previously described in the literature (1, 2, 3); but up to now few studies have employed both techniques as complementary approaches. Because of the importance of the macrophages in the innate immune response against fungal infectious, we have investigated the transcriptional profiling and the differential protein expression (using a proteomic approach) of C. more...

Candida Albicans Eurogentec 13440

(Submitter supplied) Construction of C. albicans MicroArray The C. albicans MicroArray has been developed in collaboration with the European Galar Fungail Consortium (www.pasteur.fr/recherche/unites/Galar_Fungail/). The Stanford Genome Technology Center generated the nucleotide sequence data for C. albicans with fundings from the NIDCR, NIH and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund. Information about coding sequences and proteins were obtained from the CandidaDB database: www.pasteur.fr/recherche/unites/Galar_Fungail/CandidaDB/, which has been developed by the Galar Fungail European Consortium. more...
