(Submitter supplied) The marine bacterium Rhodococcus erythropolis PR4 was demonstrated to be able for assimilation/biodegradation of hydrocarbons. Not just the chromosome but two large plasmids provide versatile enzyme sets involved in many metabolic pathways.
