Gene expression in the mammary gland of the tammar wallaby during the lactation cycle

(Submitter supplied) In this study we use microarray technology to identify differentially expressed genes in the tammar wallaby mammary gland during the lactation cycle. We have focused on gene expression changes in the tammar mammary gland as it shifts from one lactation phase to the next.

Tammar wallaby custom 13,440 spot cDNA array

(Submitter supplied) 1. Approximately 100 pg cDNA per spot was spotted onto CMT-GAPS coated slides (Corning) 2. Slide baked for 30 minutes at 80°C 3. cDNA was then immobilised by treatment with UV light (650 x 100 Joules) in a Stratalinker (Stratagene) 4. In preparation for hybridisation, slides were re-hydrated in water at 95°C for 5 minutes, followed by ethanol for 1 minute and dried by centrifugation (Sigma 4K15 centrifuge, Sigma) at 800 rpm for 3 minutes
