Absolute quantification of miRNAs

(Submitter supplied) MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been shown to play an important role in many different cellular, developmental, and physiological processes. Accordingly, numerous methods have been established to identify and quantify miRNAs. The shortness of miRNA sequence results in a high dynamic range of melting temperatures and, moreover, impedes a proper selection of detection probes or optimized PCR primers. While miRNA microarrays allow for massive parallel and accurate relative measurement of all known miRNAs, they have so far been less useful as an assay for absolute quantification. more...

miRXploreTM microarrays (856)

(Submitter supplied) Each microarray contained a total of 5308 DNA oligonucleotides with a sequence being reverse complement to the respective mature miRNA or control RNA, representing a total of 2012 miRNA sequences and 97 controls with all probes spotted in quadruplicates. The 2012 miRNA sequences covered sequence verified miRNAs of the species human (849) mouse (616) and rat (426) as well as viral miRNAs (121) as deposited in the miRBase sequence database version 11.0. more...
