Transcriptomic analysis of the duckling liver mRNA methylome following infection by the virulent and attenuated Hepatitis A virus type 1 strains

(Submitter supplied) Duck hepatitis A virus (DHAV) modulates host physiology and gene expression. The RNA modification N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modulates mRNA fate and thus affects many biological processes in mammals. Neither modifications on mRNAs have been reported in avian species. Here, we used immunoblot analysis and LC-MS/MS to show the presence of m6A modification in ducking liver, and a decreased m6A modification by virulent DHAV-1 (CH) strain when compared to the attenuated vaccine DHAV-1 (CK). more...
