Study on Salt Tolerance Mechanism via Illumina-based RNA-seq in Chrysanthemum Roots

(Submitter supplied) The samples were respectively from three replicates of the salt stress treatment and the control, then we obtained six cDNA libraries. In total, 983,827 transcripts and 469,059 unigenes were constructed. We got a total of 75,070 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), of which 48,965 were up-regulated and the other 26,105 were down regulated under the salt treatment.

Transcriptome analysis in petals and leaves of chrysanthemums with different chlorophyll levels

(Submitter supplied) To identify the regulatory steps that control chlorophyll accumulation, we compared gene expression in petals and leaves of chrysanthemum cultivars with different chlorophyll levels. Microarray analyses showed that the expression levels of chlorophyll biosynthesis genes encoding glutamyl-tRNA reductase, Mg-protoporphyrin IX chelatase, Mg-protoporphyrin IX monomethylester cyclase, and protochlorophyllorophyllide oxidoreductase were well associated with chlorophyll content: their expression levels were lower in white petals than in green petals, and were highest in leaves. more...
