Profiling and bioinformatics analyses reveal differential expression of circular RNA in tongue cancer revealed by high-throughput sequencing

(Submitter supplied) Circular RNAs (circRNA) are special non-coding RNAs. They are widely present, but with unknown functions. Recent studies have shown that many endogenous circRNAs have sponge function to absorb microRNAs. They can regulate target gene mRNA expression and play important roles in many biological processes. However, expression profile and function of circRNAs in human TSCC haven’t been reported. High-throughput sequencing was performed to identify and annotate from three TSCC tissues and adjacent tissues. more...

Influence of Liver Fibrosis on Pien Tze Huang by RNA-Seq Analysis of Circular RNAs

(Submitter supplied) Purpose: We investigate the regulation circRNAs in the damaged fibrotic liver treated with Pien Tze Huang (PZH) by RNA-seq. Methods: Liver tissue circRNAs expression profiles from 8-week carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced, and PZH-treated and CCl4-induced liver fibrosis control mice were investigated by RNA-seq and dysregulated circRNAs in PZH-treated were identified. Various bioinformatics analyses established competing endogenous RNA (ceNRA) in circRNAs-miRNAs-mRNAs axis. more...

Target identification of hepatic fibrosis therapy using Pien Tze Huang based on mRNA and lncRNA

(Submitter supplied) Pien Tze Huang (PZH) is a traditional Chinese medicine which was widely utilized in Asia for hepatic diseases. We construct two groups hepatic fibrosis mice model using CCl4, one group using PZH treatment and another group didn’t treatment. We found that the liver functional indices including ALB, ALT and AST were significantly increased in non-PZH treatment group. HE staining showed that inflammation was emerged surrounding the hepatic vein in the non-PZH treatment group, Masson staining revealed that there are blue collagenous fibre surrounding hepatic vein in the non-PZH treatment group, this result indicated that PZH cured the hepatic inflammation and fibrosis. more...

Transcriptomic Analysis Of circRNAs/miRNAs/mRNAs upon Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection

(Submitter supplied) Human circular RNAs can function in competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network by sponging miRNA and regulating gene expression. Viruses are evolved to regulate noncoding RNAs such as miRNAs and circRNAs to facilitate their propagation and pathogenesis. Studies on how host ceRNAs upon human coronavirus infection were scarce, and the functions of circRNAs during the infection of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) has not been deeply revealed. more...

Analysis of changes in circular RNA expression in human dilated cardiomyopathy

(Submitter supplied) Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been reported to play important roles in various cardiovascular diseases. However, their expression profile in human dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) has not been fully elucidated. In our study, heart samples from DCM patients and healthy controls were used to identify circRNAs by high-throughput sequencing. A total of 9585 circRNAs were identified in the DCM and control groups. more...

Circular RNA profile of acute myeloid leukemia

(Submitter supplied) Circular RNAs (circRNAs) represent a widespread class of non-coding RNAs, which drew little attention in the past. Recently, limited data showed their promising future to act as biomarkers in human cancer, but the characteristics and functions remain largely unknown in hematopoietic malignancies, especially in leukemia. In this study, with the help of circRNA microarray, we demonstrated the expression profile of circRNAs in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients, and identified a large number of circRNAs possibly expressed in a leukemia specific manner. more...

RNA sequencing of human periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) with Illumina HiSeq2000

(Submitter supplied) To study the molecular mechanisms underlying PDLSC osteogenic differentiation, we developed RNA sequencing with Illumina HiSeq2000 to comprehensively identify RNA expression profiles in normal PDLSCs, osteogenic inductive PDLSCs and mechanical force-induced PDLSCs. Plenty of RNAs were found to be differentially expressed by RNA sequencing. Furthermore, the potential functions of these RNAs were investigated using bioinformatic analysis.
