Ethynyl estradiol estrogen effect in uterus

Temporal examination of ethynyl estradiol (EE) in uterus of immature, ovariectomized C57BL/6. 0.1 mg/kg EE or vehicle administered and uteri harvested at 0, 2, 8, 12, or 24 hours, or three daily doses administered and uteri harvested at 72 hours.

Mouse EE uterine time course

(Submitter supplied) Immature, ovariectomized C57BL/6 mice were treated with sesame oil (vehicle) or with 0.1 mg/kg 17-alpha-ethynylestradiol (EE) for the length of time indicated. Mice received one dose, except for the 3x24hr samples, which received 3 consecutive daily doses and were sacrificed 24hr after the final dose. Two replicates of each sample are provided. In addition, one time=0 sample is included. Keywords = uterus estrogen time mouse Keywords: time-course

Expression data from mouse uteri after ovariectomy and E2 treatment.

(Submitter supplied) 17ß-Estradiol (E2) is well known to be associated with uterine cancer, endometriosis, and leiomyomas. Although insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) has been identified as a mediator of the uterotrophic effect of E2 in several studies, this mechanism is still not well understood. In the present study, identification of the genes modulated by a physiological dose of E2, in the uterus, has been done in ovariectomized mice using Affymetrix microarrays. more...

Uterus response to 17beta-estradiol: time course

Analysis of uteri from overiectomized animals at various lengths of time up to 24 hours following treatment with 17beta-estradiol (E2). Results provide insight into the molecular basis of the uterotrophic effect induced by a physiological dose of E2.

The genomic response of a human uterine endometrial adenocarcinoma cell line to 17alpha-ethynyl estradiol.

(Submitter supplied) We have determined the gene expression profile induced by 17 alpha-ethynyl estradiol (EE) in Ishikawa cells, a human uterine-derived estrogen-sensitive cell line, at various doses (1 pM, 100 pM, 10 nM, and 1 microM) and time points (8, 24, and 48 h). The transcript profiles were compared between treatment groups and controls (vehicle-treated) using high-density oligonucleotide arrays to determine the expression level of approximately 38,500 human genes. more...

Estrogen-responsive genes in the parenchyma and fat pad of the bovine mammary gland by microarray analysis

(Submitter supplied) Characterizing estrogen-responsive genes is an essential step towards fully understanding mechanisms of estrogen action during mammary gland development and function. To catalogue these genes, sixteen prepubertal heifers were used in a 2 x 2 factorial with ovarian status (intact or ovariectomized) as the first factor and estrogen treatment as the second (control or estradiol). Heifers were ovariectomized at approximately 4.5 months of age and estrogen treatments were initiated one month later. more...

High fat diet effect on aorta: time course

Comparison of gene expression in aortas of C57BL/6 and C3H/HeJ fed identical high fat diets at 0, 4, 8, 24, and 40 weeks. C57BL/6 has a greater tendency than C3H/HeJ to develop atherosclerotic aortic lesions when both fed identical high fat diets.
