Electrical stimulation in vivo effect on neonatal ventricular cardiomyocytes in the presence of an inhibitor of contraction

Analysis of neonatal ventricular cardiomyocytes subjected to electrical stimulation in the presence of blebbistatin to inhibit contraction. Results provide insight into electrical pulse-induced changes in gene expression in neonatal ventricular cardiomyocytes independent of contraction.

Electric stimulation of neonatal rat ventricular cardiomyocytes

(Submitter supplied) Study on changes in gene expression in primary cultures of neonatal rat ventricular cardiomyocytes to electric stimulation. Through comparing non-stimulated, stimulated and blebbistatin supplemented and stimulated cultures we set out to identify the genes that are specifically activated by electric pulsing separate from cardiomyocyte contractions.

Gene expression profiles of mouse ESC cardiomyocyte-specific differentiation

(Submitter supplied) The differentiation to cardiomyocytes is a prerequisite and an important part of heart development. A good understanding of the complicated cardiomyocyte differentiation process benefits cardiogenesis study. Embryonic stem cells (ESCs), cell lines with infinite ability to proliferate and to be differentiated into all cell types of the adult body, are important research tools for investigation of differentiation and meanwhile good models for developmental research. more...
