Mhyo IG Rnd vs MhRnd

(Submitter supplied) Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae is the causative agent of porcine enzootic pneumonia and a major factor in the porcine respiratory disease complex. A clear understanding of the mechanisms of pathogenesis does not exist. The virulence factors of M. hyopneumoniae are largely unknown and are most probably complex in nature. The transcriptional profile of intergenic regions is investigated using microarray PCR and oligonucleotide probes. more...

Global Transcriptional Analysis of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae Following Exposure to Norepinephrine

(Submitter supplied) The goal of this study is to gain a better understanding of the transcriptional responses of M. hyopneumoniae under norepinephrine stress. Six independent RNA samples from norepinephrine-exposed cultures were paired with six independent RNA samples from control cultures for hybridization to six two-color microarrays. For three arrays, the control RNA sample was labeled with Cy3 dye and the experimental RNA sample was labeled with Cy5 dye, the dyes were reversed for the other three arrays to overcome dye bias. more...

Transcriptome Changes in Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae During Infection

(Submitter supplied) Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae causes swine pneumonia and contributes significantly to porcine respiratory disease complex. The mechanisms of pathogenesis are difficult to address since there is a lack of genetic tools, but microarrays can be used to study transcriptional changes that occur during colonization and disease in pigs. This approach has the potential to identify genes important to virulence. This study sought to identify genes that change transcript levels during infection. more...

Array-Based Genomic Comparative Hybridization Analysis of Field Strains of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae

(Submitter supplied) Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae is the causative agent of porcine enzootic pneumonia and a major factor in the porcine respiratory disease complex. A clear understanding of the mechanisms of pathogenesis does not exist although it is clear that M. hyopneumoniae adheres to porcine ciliated epithelium by action of a protein called P97. Previous studies have shown variation in the gene encoding the P97cilium adhesin within different strains of M. more...

Global Transcriptional Analysis of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae Following Exposure to Hydrogen Peroxide

(Submitter supplied) Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, the causative agent of swine enzootic pneumonia, colonizes the cilia of swine lungs, causing ciliostasis and cell death. Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae is a component of the porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC) and is especially problematic for the finishing swine industry, causing the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars in farm revenues worldwide. For successful infection, M. more...

ISU_Minion_Mhyo_IG-oligo_v1.0

(Submitter supplied) Probes were designed for the intergenic regions of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae. Intergenic regions were defined as noncoding DNA sequences between annotated genes in the M. hyopneumoniae genome sequence (GenBank accession # AE017332). Intergenic regions larger than 50 bp were considered for analysis, and those between 125-450 bp were considered for PCR-based probes. Oligonucleotides were designed for some intergenic regions based on the inability to produce PCR products or the length of the region (50-125 bp). more...

Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae spotted PCR array

(Submitter supplied) Corning UltraGAPS substrates (catalog #40016) Protocol: The M. hyopneumoniae microarray consists of PCR products (125-450 bp) spotted to Corning UltraGAPS™ substrates. Each probe was printed in triplicate, in non-adjacent spots to reduce non-uniform substrate errors in replicated probes. The array consisted of 16 subarrays, with a 12-column x 12-row configuration.
