Extraction protocol
Strains were aerobically cultured at 30C and pH 5 in a chemostat diluted at 0.10 hr^-1. Samples were quenced in ice, spun for 3 min, and frozen on liquid N2. Total RNA was extracted with trizol from cells ground at cold temperatures.
