RAW264.7 cells were treated with KDO, IFN beta and 8Br

(Submitter supplied) RAW 264.7 cells were stimulated with KDO (100 ng/ml), IFN-β (300 pM) and/or 8-Br 100 μM. These ligands were applied individually or in combination with KDO for 60 min and 120 min. Total RNA was extracted using TriPure (Roche) following its protocol. Keywords: designed

A Bioinformatics Analysis of Memory Consolidation Reveals Involvement of the Transcription Factor c-Rel

(Submitter supplied) Consolidation of long-term memory (LTM) is a complex process requiring synthesis of new mRNAs and proteins. Many studies have characterized the requirement for de novo mRNA and protein synthesis; however, few studies have comprehensively identified genes regulated during LTM consolidation. We show that consolidation of long-term contextual memory in the hippocampus triggers altered expression of numerous genes encompassing many aspects of neuronal function. more...

Skeletal Muscle Response

(Submitter supplied) To improve our understanding of the genetic reprogramming during the early phase of skeletal adaptation in response to endurance training, we employed cDNA microarray analysis to examine changes in mRNA expression in mouse plantaris muscle after a single bout voluntary running. Control untrained mice were compared with with R3h, R12h, P3h, P6h, P12h, P24h and R4w mice. We conclude that a single bout of voluntary running is sufficient to induce active remodeling processes, including cell proliferation, by a coordinated regulation of the genome in response to signals elicited from increased neuromuscular activity. more...

Dual Ligand Effects

(Submitter supplied) We identified differentially expressed genes in response to single and double ligand treatments (LPS, IFG, 2MA, LPS plus 2MA, and LPS plus IFG). The majority of the regulated transcripts responded additively to dual ligand treatment. However, a significant fraction responded in a non-additive fashion. Several cytokines showing non-additive transcriptional responses to dual ligand treatment also showed non-additive protein production/secretion responses in separate experiments. more...
