Epigenetic natural variation in Arabidopsis thaliana

(Submitter supplied) Ecotype-specific differences in genome methylation were assayed in Arabidopsis Col and Ler variations using genomic tiling microarrays. Comparative genome hybridization was also performed so that the contribution of ecotype-specific amplifications and deletions could be estimated and integrated into the analysis of differential DNA methylation. (Submitter supplied) The entire TIGR4 Arabidopsis thaliana ec. Col chromosome 4 assembly was used to design a genomic tiling microarray. This ~18.6 Mb sequence represented on the microarray starts downstream of the nucleolar organizing region (NOR) comprising the 5’ terminus of the chromosome.
