A genome-wide survey of DNA methylation in OsNAR2.1 transgenic plants

(Submitter supplied) DNA methylation is an important mechanism of plant epigenomes, involved in regulating gene expression under environment stress. Nitrogen (N) resource is a significant limiting factor for plant growth and productivity in both natural and agricultural systems. To cope with the flexible environmental N changes, transgenic technolgies have been applied to enhance the N use efficiency (NUE) in crops. Here, we use Whole Genome Bisulfite Sequencing (WGBS) and Methylated DNA Immunoprecipitation Sequencing (MEDIP-seq) to study genome-wide methylation across transgenic plants with higher NUE, transgenic controls and their wild types.
