The HMG-box module in FACT is critical for suppressing epigenetic variegation of heterochromatin in fission yeast

(Submitter supplied) Chromatin condensation state is the key for retrieving genetic information. High-mobility group protein (HMG) proteins exhibit DNA-binding and bending activities, playing an important role in the regulation of chromatin structure.
