Host cell gene expression late during cytomegalovirus infection

(Submitter supplied) Human fibroblast monolayers plated at a density of 3 x 104 cells/cm2 in 850 cm2 roller bottles were infected at confluency (day 5 post-seeding) with purified virions of human cytomegalovirus (CMV) strain AD169varATCC (AD) or the AD169 US27/US28 deletion mutant virus RV101 (RV) at a multiplicity of infection of 10. After virus adsorption for 1h at 37C with 5% CO2, the inoculum was removed and the cells were washed twice with culture medium prior to the addition of fresh medium. more...

Fibroblast response to cytomegalovirus infection: time course

Analysis of fibroblasts infected with cytomegalovirus (CMV) AD169 strain or a derivative lacking the CMV chemokine receptor US28. Cells examined at 50, 72, and 98 hours post-infection. Results identify pathways affected by CMV and provide insight into the role of US28 in the late phase of infection.

US28-expressing and mock-transfected stable NIH-3T3 cell lines

(Submitter supplied) The human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) encodes the chemokine receptor US28 that exhibits constitutive activity. NIH-3T3 cells stably transfected with US28 present a pro-angiogenic and transformed phenotype both in vitro and in vivo. We used gene expression profiling to determine how US28 constitutive activity modulates expression of genes compared to mock-transfected cells. Keywords: Comparison of stably transfected cell lines

Human cytomegalovirus chemokine receptor U28 expression effect on fibroblast cell line

Analysis of fibroblast NIH-3T3 cells expressing the human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) chemokine receptor U28. HCMV proteins are present in malignancies such as colon cancer. U28 activates inflammatory and proliferative signaling pathways. Results provide insight into the role of U28 in oncogenesis.
