Expression data from pediatric AML patients

(Submitter supplied) Pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a heterogeneous disease characterized by non-random genetic aberrations related to outcome. Detecting these aberrations however still lead to failures or false negative results. Therefore, we focused on the potential of gene expression profiles (GEP) to classify pediatric AML. Gene expression microarray data of 237 children with AML were generated and cases were split into a discovery cohort (n=157) and an independent validation cohort (n=80). more...

Expression data from ALL patients included in the set used to construct a classification signature (COALL cohort)

(Submitter supplied) Childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) comprises a large group of genetic subtypes with a favorable prognosis characterized by a TEL-AML1-fusion, hyperdiploidy (>50 chromosomes) or E2A-PBX1 fusion and a smaller group with unfavorable outcome characterized by either a BCR-ABL-fusion, MLL-rearrangement or T-ALL. About 25% of precursor B-ALL are currently genetically unclassified and have an intermediate prognosis. more...

Selective Targeting of the Proliferating Compartment in Chronic Lymhocytic Leukemia by Inhibition or Downregulation of Aurora Kinases

(Submitter supplied) Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) B-cells receive signals from the lymph node and bone marrow (BM) microenvironments that regulate their survival and proliferation. These signals and the pathways that propagate them to the interior of the cell represent potential targets for therapeutic intervention. To characterize the pathways that are activated by the BM microenvironment in CLL cells in vivo, we performed gene expression profiling of tumor cells purified from BM and peripheral blood. more...

Expression data from 43 Ovarian tumors

(Submitter supplied) Gene expression profiles of malignant carcinomas surgically removed from ovarian cancer patients pre-treated with chemotherapy (neo-adjuvant) prior to surgery group into two distinct clusters. One group clusters with carcinomas from patients not pre-treated with chemotherapy prior to surgery (C-L) while the other clusters with non-malignant adenomas (A-L). Although the C-L cluster is preferentially associated with p53 loss-of-function (LOF) mutations, the C-L cluster cancer patients display a more favorable clinical response to chemotherapy as evidenced by enhanced long-term survivorships. more...
