Expression data from mouse microvascular transcriptomes

(Submitter supplied) Little is known about the pan-microvascular transcriptome, particularly considering gene transcripts and their encoded proteins that can be considered as vascular-selective in their expression. Using a combination of publicly available and our own transcript profiles, we identified a core set of gene transcripts, which are specifically and broadly expressed in the microvasculature. Unique Gene Expression Profiles of Donor-Matched Human Retinal and Choroidal Vascular Endothelial Cells

(Submitter supplied) Consistent with clinical observations that posterior uveitis frequently involves the retinal vasculature and recent recognition of vascular heterogeneity, we hypothesized that retinal vascular endothelium was a cell population of unique molecular phenotype. Donor-matched cultures of primary retinal and choroidal endothelial cells from 6 human cadavers were incubated with either Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites (10:1, parasite:cell) or Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide (100 ng/mL); control cultures were simultaneously incubated with medium. more...

Comparison between aortic and endocardial endothelial cells expression profiles

(Submitter supplied) Endocardial (EE) and Aortic (AE) endothelial cells were isolated from the same two rats, pooled (EE and AE kept separately) and cultured for 2 passages. Culture conditions and confluence of EE and AE cell cultures were kept as identical as possible. RNA was isolated and the expression profile of both endothelial cell types was compared using the Affymetrix rat genome U34A array. Keywords: parallel sample

Differential gene expression of young and senescent HUVECs under static and laminar shear stress conditions

(Submitter supplied) Laminar shear stress due to constant blood flow is known to play a critical role in maintaining vascular health. In contrast, endothelial cell senescence appears to be closely associated with the incidence of vascular disorder. In an attempt to identify functional biomarkers for age-related vascular health/disease, the present study investigated differential gene expression of young and senescent human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) under static and laminar shear stress. more...

Comparative gene expression in the limbus of the vervet monkey

(Submitter supplied) The limbus is a unique anatomic structure that is highly innervated and vascularized yet sets the boundary for the avascularized cornea. The corneal epithelial stem cells are believed to reside at the limbus. The intrinsic and external molecular signals that modulate the differentiation and proliferation of the limbal stems cells are still largely unidentified because of a lack of known specific markers. more...

Characterization of B- and T-lineage ALL by Integrated Analysis of microRNA and mRNA Expression Profiles

(Submitter supplied) Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is an heterogeneous disease comprising several subentities that differ for both immunophenotypic and molecular characteristics. Over the years, the biologic understanding of this neoplasm has largely increased. Gene expression profiling has recently allowed to identify specific signatures for the different ALL subsets and permitted identification of pathways deregulated by a given lesion. more...

PBEF Knockdown in HMVEC-LBI

(Submitter supplied) This study employed Affymetrix GeneChips to profile transcriptome of human pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells (HMVEC-L) treated with PBEFsiRNA to gain insight into transcriptional regulations of PBEF on the endothelial function. We isolated and labeled mRNAs from PBEF siRNA transfected HMVEC-L and hybridized them to Affymetrix GeneChip HG-U133 plus 2. Differentially expressed genes and canonical pathways were analyzed. more...

Transcriptional profiling of a novel pro-angiogenic small molecule phthalimide neovascular factor 1 (PNF1)

Gene expression analysis of the immortalized human endothelial cell lines HMEC-1 and TIME

(Submitter supplied) The distinction between lymphatic and blood vessels is biologically fundamental. Two immortalized cell lines, which have been widely used as models for endothelial cells of blood vascular origin, are the human microvascular endothelial cell line-1 (HMEC-1) and the telomerase-immortalized microvascular endothelial cell line (TIME). However, analysis of protein expression by flow cytometry revealed expression of lymphatic markers on these cell lines. more...
