Gene expression profile of Transgenic Adenocarcinoma of the Mouse Prostate (TRAMP)

(Submitter supplied) Gene expression profile of Transgenic Adenocarcinoma of the Mouse Prostate (TRAMP) reveals murine targets for preclinical development of human prostate cancer therapy In this study, we have generated an open source TRAMP microarray dataset to identify differentially expressed genes from human prostate cancer that have concordant expression in TRAMP tumors, and thereby represent lead targets for preclinical therapy development. more...

Gene expression profiling of prostate cancer

(Submitter supplied) To better understand the molecular mechanism that underlay tumorigenesis and progression of prostate cancer (PCa), we studied the gene expression profiles of sixteen PCa compared to their matched normal tissues. Using Significance Analysis of Microarrays, we identified 53 genes differentially expressed that were more than 2 fold up- or down-regulated in at least 50 % of the tumors. Expression profiling of the mouse prostate after castration and hormone replacement

(Submitter supplied) In this study, we used microarray analysis to determine gene expression profile changes in the mouse prostate following castration and hormone replacement. We first identified genes with significant expression changes in each of these two processes and then generated a list of androgen responsive genes and a list of genes whose expression were inversely correlated with the presence of androgen. The analysis of this data set is described in Wang et al., Differentiation, 2006 Keywords: Time course

Prostate response to castration and subsequent hormone replacement

Analysis of prostate of animals following castration and subsequent hormone replacement with testosterone. Castration induces prostate involution, while hormone replacement induces regeneration. Results provide insight into the molecular mechanisms regulating prostatic involution and regeneration.

Exon-based clustering of tumor transcriptomes reveals alternative exons associated with metastasis in breast cancer

(Submitter supplied) Exonic profiling is an emerging topic in disease-associated transcriptome analysis, but is still facing major limitations. In this study, we performed a microarray-based analysis of the transcriptome at the exon level of mouse primary mammary tumors having different abilities to give rise to metastases. First, we developed a bioinformatics platform and used a stringent algorithm to identify 679 genes with differentially expressed exons in primary tumors of the 4T1 mouse model of mammary tumor progression. more...

Expression Changes Relevant for Apoptosis in K562 Cells Co-Treated with Amifostine and Imatinib

(Submitter supplied) We had previously demonstrated an increased proapoptotic effect of Imatinib (STI571) in combination with Amifostine (AMI) in K562 cell line. In this study we used genomic scale gene expression profiling to monitor changes at transcriptional level in K562 cells during the treatment with AMI+STI571. We identified a transcriptional repressor of survival genes, known as BTF, which triggers a pro-apoptotic signal, potentially helpful to overcome the resistance to STI571. more...

Comparative study of gene expression in human colorectal cancer tissues and normal mucosa

(Submitter supplied) The purpose of our study was to better understand the genetic mechanism of oncogenesis for human colorectal cancer and to identify potential new tumour markers of use in clinical practice. Results: Comparing cancerous tissues with normal colonic mucosa we identified 584 known genes (3%) differentially expressed to a significant degree (p<0.001). Many of the transcripts that were more abundant in tumours than in non-neoplastic tissues appear to reflect important events for colon carcinogenesis. more...

Microarray Analysis of Retinal Gene Expression in the DBA/2J Model of Glaucoma

(Submitter supplied) Purpose: The DBA/2J mouse is a model for secondary angle-closure glaucoma due to iris atrophy and pigment dispersion, which ultimately leads to increased intraocular pressure (IOP). We sought to correlate changes in retinal gene expression with glaucoma-like pathology by performing microarray analysis of retinal RNA from DBA/2J mice at 3 months before disease onset, and at 8 months, after IOP elevation. more...

METHODS: Gene expression profiles and DNA copy number changes were examined using DNA microarrays in eight commonly used prostate cancer cell lines. Chromosomal regions with DNA copy number changes were identified using cluster along chromosome (CLAC). more...
