Molecular targets of 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) within the zebrafish ovary

(Submitter supplied) 2,3,7,8-TCDD (TCDD) is a reproductive toxicant and endocrine disruptor in nearly all vertebrates, yet the mechanisms by which TCDD induces these reproductive alterations have not been fully characterized. Fish are among the most sensitive vertebrates to the toxic effects of TCDD, and even subtle physiologic changes induced by TCDD can impair reproduction. Transcriptional Profiling of rat hypothalamic response to TCDD

(Submitter supplied) In many mammals, halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon (HAH) exposure causes wasting syndrome, defined as lethal weight loss as a result of severe and persistent hypophagia. The most potent HAH in causing wasting is 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-ρ-dioxin (TCDD), which exerts its toxic effects through the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) – a transcription factor. Transcriptional profiling of the rat adipose tissue response to TCDD

(Submitter supplied) Rodents exposed to the environmental contaminant, TCDD, suffer from a number of acute and chronic toxicities, including lethality and a wasting syndrome. Transcriptomic analyses of TCDD treated zebrafish liver

(Submitter supplied) To fully understand molecular toxicity of TCDD in an in vivo animal model, adult zebrafish were exposed to TCDD at 10 nM for 96 h and the livers were sampled for RNA-sequencing based transcriptomic profiling. A total of 1,058 differently expressed genes were identified based on fold-change>2 and TPM (transcripts per million) >10. Fetal mouse heart, TCDD dose-response series

(Submitter supplied) Pregnant C57Bl6N mice were treated with 0 (corn oil), 1.5, 3.0, or 6.0 ug/kg TCDD on gd14.5. Fetal hearts were collected on gd17.5. Hearts from each litter were pooled onto one chip. 4 replicates of each condition were run on affymetrix MG_U74Av2 chips, using standard affymetrix protocols and controls. Analysis of gestational day (GD) 17.5 fetal hearts isolated from pregnant C57BL/6Ns treated at GD 14.5 with up to 6.0 ug/kg 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD). TCDD, a cardiovascular teratogen, inhibits cardiomyocyte proliferation, a process that peaks between GD 14.5 to 17.5.
