The GeneChip® Human Mapping 10K Array enables genotyping of greater than 10,000 Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) loci on a single array. The SNPs on this array were chosen from The SNP Consortium (TSC) database based on their presence on 250- to 1,000-basepair Xba I fragments in the human genome. SNPs were chosen based upon high reproducibility, call rate, accuracy, and physical map position. These SNPs have been validated across a minimum of 200 individuals from at least three distinct populations, Caucasian, Asian, and African-American. The average heterozygosity of the markers is greater than .35 across these populations.
