Gene expression profiling of Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell lymphoma (AITL) tumors

(Submitter supplied) Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell lymphoma (AITL) is a mature T-cell lymphoma of blood or lymph vessel immunoblasts. It is the most common subtype of T-cell lymphoma in the Western world and the second most frequent one in Asia. We sequenced nine pairs of AITL exomes and their matched normals. Frequent mutations in TET2 and RHOA were detected, and confirmed through targeted sequencing in a larger cohort of 43 samples. more...

Expression profiles of Ewing family of tumors authenticate distinct molecular entities

(Submitter supplied) The concept of Ewing family of tumors (EFT), characterized by FET-ETS fusions, has been recently challenged by the description of Ewing-like tumors with different gene fusions. Here we investigate the similarities and differences of FET-ETS, BCOR-CCNB3, CIC-DUX4 and EWSR1-NFATc2 tumors samples with a number of other sarcomas. Unsupervised clustering of gene expression profiles fully discriminates these four molecular entities. more...

Docetaxel-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles suppress breast cancer cells growth with reduced myelosuppression toxicity

(Submitter supplied) Docetaxel is an adjuvant chemotherapy drug widely used to treat multiple solid tumors, however its toxicity and side-effect limits its clinical efficacy. Herein, the docetaxel-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (DSNs) were developed to reduce systemic toxicity while still keeping its anti-cancer activity. To evaluate its anti-cancer activity and toxicity and understand the molecular mechanisms of DSNs, different cellular, molecular and whole genome transcription analysis approaches were utilized. more...

Gene expression profiling of breast fibroadenomas

(Submitter supplied) Fibroadenomas are the most common benign breast tumors in women under 30. Unlike their malignant counterparts, relatively molecular profiling has been done on fibroadenomas. Here we performed gene expression profiling on ten fibroadenomas in order to better characterize these tumors. Through targeted amplicon sequencing, we have found that six of these tumors have MED12 mutations. We show that the MED12 mutations, among others, are associated with activated estrogen signaling, as well as increased invasiveness through upregulation of ECM remodelling genes.
