Eurogentec L090D Yeast ORFs

(Submitter supplied) The yeast 5803 ORFs MicroArray is composed of 32 subgrids, which follow a pattern of 8 metarows and 4 metacolumns. Each subgrid contains 20 columns and 20 rows with a dot spacing of 200 µm. Probes are spotted as closed duplicates. In order to provide a friendly environment, the first subgrid row on each array metarow contains all the normalization controls, which include the controls with serial dilution of the Renilla LuxA cDNA PCR product. more...

A comparison of high density oligonucleotide and PCR-based array platforms for chIP chip in yeast

(Submitter supplied) ChIP chip data was obtained for the factors Tec1, Ste12 and Sok2 in S. cerevisiae using high density oligonucleotide arrays. This data was then compared to results obtained previously for the same factors under the same growth conditions but using spotted PCR arrays (Borneman et al Genes Dev 2006). This showed the high density arrays to be more reproducible using fewer numbers of replicates. In addtion, the high density arrays provided increased accuracy, sensitivity and reproducibity when compared to the PCR arrays. more...

Simultaneous genotyping, gene expression measurement, and detection of allele-specific expression

(Submitter supplied) By hybridizing mRNA to oligonucleotide arrays and searching for probes that are outliers in their probe set, we identify and genotype polymorhisms in two strains of yeast (BY, isogenic to S288C, and RM, a wild vineyard strain) and segregants from a cross between the two strains. We then use this mRNA based genotyping approach to study allele-specific expression in diploid hybrids from a cross between BY and RM. more...

Round up hi-load herbicide treatment for 2 h

(Submitter supplied) The number and type of synthetic chemicals that are being produced worldwide continues to increase significantly. While these industrial chemicals provide numerous benefits, there is no doubt that some have potential to damage the environment and health. Toxicity must be evaluated and use must be carefully controlled and monitored in order to minimize potential damage. DNA microarray technology has become an important new technique in toxicology. more...

Eurogentec AG S. pombe ORF array 11k (L040B)

(Submitter supplied) Schizosaccharomyces pombe 4976 ORFs spotted in duplicate on glass slide Keywords = yeast ORF DNA microarray Protocol: Primary PCR: The PCR reactions are performed using tagged genome specific primers in the presence of genomic DNA (provided by your laboratory). We normally achieve a success rate of 93 % of PCR reactions. For the failed PCR reactions we perform three different protocols of PCR conditions, which include different MgCl2 concentrations and different Taq polymerase. more...

Genomic instability induced by lowered expression of POL3 in yeast

(Submitter supplied) DNA replication stress (DRS)-linked genomic instability has emerged as an important factor driving cancer development. To understand the mechanisms of DRS-associated genomic instability and phenotypic evolution, we mapped chromosomal alterations in a yeast strain with lowered expression of the replicative DNA polymerase δ. At a whole-genome level, we identified both hotspots of mitotic recombination and chromosome-specific aneuploidy dependent on decreased levels of DNA polymerase δ. more...
