Single-base resolution DNA methylation profiles of two highly inbred chicken lines, Leghorn and Fayoumi, by whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (MethylC-seq).

(Submitter supplied) Here we provided the first single-base resolution DNA methylatome in chicken lungs by whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (MethylC-seq). In addition, two genetically distinct highly inbred chicken lines, Leghorn and Fayoumi, were used to examine how DNA methylation regulates mRNA gene expression between two lines. The methylation profile demonstrated that methylcytosines in the chicken were more likely to occur in CG dinucleotides than in non-CG sites. more...

Gene expression profiling study by RNA-seq for identifying genes associated with sound vibration in plant

(Submitter supplied) Plant can perceive and respond natural sound vibration (SV). Artificial SV also served as a novel trigger of induced resistance, although approaches for activating such plant innate immunity intensively studied on the use of biological and chemical agents (BCA). Artificial SV pre-treatment protected Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings against insect pests and fungal pathogens. However, SV-mediated epigenetic modulation remains unexplored while CBA-mediated induced resistance is known as a complicated process involving epigenetic regulation. more...

12 transcriptomes of three life stages using RNA-Seq

(Submitter supplied) As DNA methylation can modulate gene expression, we then focused our analysis on changes of methylation at the host taxonomic level, that is between encapsulated and non-encapsulated clade, and within non-encapsulated clade, to reveal epigenetic regulation on transcriptomes from Ad and ML stages. By comparing DNA methylation patterns between different host classes of species, we found a fraction of parasitism-related genes under epigenetic regulation, such as G-protein-coupled receptor, DNaseII and ligand-gated chloride channel.

12 single-base resolution methylomes of three life stages using WGBS

(Submitter supplied) As the most studied type of epigenetic modifications found in many taxa, DNA methylation has been confirmed to play a crucial role in transposon silencing, transcriptional regulation and thus phenotypic variation, as well as rapid adaption to changing environments. To fully understand the methylome variation in Trichinella, here, we report 12 single-base resolution methylomes of three life stages using WGBS. more...
