Myoblast differentiation and p53 family members

Analysis of mock and deltaNp73alpha-expressing C2C12 myoblasts 6 and 24 hours after shifting the cells to a differentiation medium. DeltaNp73alpha, a p73alpha isoform, functions as a transdominant inhibitor of other p53 family members, interfering with multiple developmental programs.

(Submitter supplied) The p53 family comprises the tumor suppressor p53 and the structural homologs p63 and p73. How the three family members cooperate in tumor suppression remains unclear. Here, we report different but complementary functions of the individual members for regulating retinoblastoma protein (RB) function during myogenic differentiation. Spontaneous SCC induced by the somatic inactivation of Rb1 and Trp53 tumor suppressors in mouse stratified epithelia

miRNA34 expression in SW480 cells

(Submitter supplied) SW480 were stably transfected with an episomal plasmid expressing GFP and miRNA34 from a bidirectional doxycyclin regulatable promoter (Bornkamm et al Nucleic Acids Res. 2005 Sep 7;33(16)). Polyclonal cell lines were obtained by selection with Hygromycin at 350ug/ml for 10 days. caArray_notte-00422: Molecular Dissection of Colon Cancer

(Submitter supplied) RNA expression data was generated as part of a colon cancer study. Samples were obtained from patients, including primary colon cancer, polyps, metastases, and matched normal mucosa (obtained from the margins of the resection). The RNA was extracted from tissue samples obtained from resections and hybridized to Affymetrix HG-U133 arrays. RNA expression data was also obtained for a few cell lines.

Tumor suppression by Interferon regulatory factor-1 relies on down-regulation of cyclin D1

(Submitter supplied) Interferons have been ascribed to mediate antitumor effects. IRF-1 is a major target gene of interferons. It inhibits cell proliferation and oncogenic transformation. Here we show that 60% of all mRNAs deregulated by oncogenic transformation mediated by c-myc and H-ras are reverted to the expression levels of non-transformed cells by IRF-1. Rhabdomyosarcomas in aging A/J mice

(Submitter supplied) Rhabdomyosarcomas (RSCs) are skeletal muscle neoplasms found in humans and domestic mammals. The A/J inbred strain developed a high frequency of RSC by 20 months of age while BALB/cJ and BALB/cByJ also develop RSC but less frequently. Rhabdomyosarcoma model

Analysis of rhabdomyosarcoma samples from A/J animals that are about 450 days old. A/J animals develop adult pleomorphic type rhabdomyosarcomas at a high frequency over 20 months of age. Results provide insight into the molecular pathogenesis of rhabdomyosarcoma.
