Genome-wide analysis of long noncoding RNA expression profile in colorectal cancer

(Submitter supplied) Human colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer in the world.Recent studies have shown that long non-coding (lncRNA) plays critical roles in a myriad of biological processes and human diseases,Since the roles of lncRNA in CRC remain largely unknown, they were investigated in the study. Our findings indicate that the expression profiles of lncRNAs has changed in CRC as compared with adjacent non-tumor samples, and may provide novel insight into the molecular mechanism underlying the disease and potential novel diagnostic or therapeutic targets for CRC.

Genome-wide analysis of long noncoding RNA expression profile in patients with Marjolin’s ulcer

(Submitter supplied) Marjolin’s Ulcer is an aggressive cutaneous malignancy that typically ensues over a period of time in the post-burned lesions and scars or any other chronic wound. Marjolin’s Ulcer makes up 1.2% of all skin cancers, it is reported that 2% of squamous cell carcinoma and 0.03% of basal cell carcinoma originate in burn scars. Recent studies have shown that long non-coding (lncRNA) plays critical roles in a myriad of biological processes and human diseases,Since the roles of lncRNA in Marjolin’s Ulcer remain unknown, they were investigated in the study. Our findings indicate that the expression profiles of lncRNAs has changed in Marjolin’s Ulcer as compared with normal skin and para-cancerous scar, and may provide novel insight into the molecular mechanism underlying the disease and potential novel diagnostic or therapeutic targets for Marjolin’s Ulcer.

Systematic identification and comparison of expressed profiles of lncRNAs and circRNAs in male and female germline stem cells

(Submitter supplied) Male and female germline stem cells are critical for passing genetic information from generation to generation. Accumulating evidences indicate that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) play important roles in self-renewal and differentiation of germline stem cells. However, the mechanisms remain largely unknown. In this study, we explored the mRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs expression profiles of male and female germline stem cells through high-throughput sequencing.

Expression profiles of lncRNAs and mRNAs in KGN/shPWRN2 cell lines

(Submitter supplied) In this study, to identify the target genes of PWRN2, we first constructed lentivirus shRNA vectors to infect the KGN cell lines to gain three KGN/shPWRN2 cell lines with down-regulated PWRN2 expression levels. Then, the expression profiles of mRNAs and lncRNAs in KGN/shPWRN2 cells were determined by microarray. The results revealed thousands of lncRNAs and mRNAs expressed in KGN/shPWRN2. The expression of 176 lncRNAs significantly changed in KGN/shPWRN2 cell lines relative to control NC cell lines. more...

LncRNAs expression signatures of cumulus cells isolated from PCOS patients revealed by microarray

(Submitter supplied) Our study is the first one to determine genome-wide lncRNAs expression patterns in cumulus cells of PCOS patients by microarray. The results displayed that clusters of lncRNAs (n=623) were aberrantly expressed in PCOS patients compared with non-PCOS patients. Many differentially expressed lncRNAs were transcribed from regions on chromosome 2 and classified into enhancer-like lncRNA subgroup. XLOC_011402 (PWRN2) was found for the first time that it was not only expressed in testis but also in cumulus cells. more...

lncRNAs expression signatures of gastric cancer

(Submitter supplied) Long noncoding RNAs (LncRNAs) are an important class if pervasive genes involved in a variety of biological functions. LncRNAs have been recently implicated as having oncogenic and tumor suppressor roles. To further investigate the function of lncRNA in gastric cancer, we use lncRNA microarray to describe LncRNAs profiles in 6 pairs of human gastric adenocarcinoma and the corresponding adjacent nontumorous tissues.

Differentially expressed LncRNAs and mRNA identified by SEQ analysis in colorectal cancer patients

(Submitter supplied) LncRNA plays an important role in gene regulation, but its impact on the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer and the biological function of cancer cells is unclear. In this study, we will use the next generation sequencing technique to study the differences of the expression profiles of lncRNA and mRNA in colorectal cancer tissues, analyzing the differentially expressed genes by GO/KEGG enrichment, and predicting the new lncRNAs’ function. more...

Identifiation of lncRNA expression profiles and ceRNA analysis in the spinal cord of morphine tolerance rats

(Submitter supplied) The mechanism of morphine tolerance remains unclear, and lncRNA have been promising molecule in many pathophysiological processes. However, the role of lncRNA on morphine tolerance hasn’t been explored yet. So we explore this issue, and our results indicated that the expression profiles of lncRNAs have changed in morphine tolerance rats as compared with normal rats, and among those, some differentially expressed lncRNAs might be new therapeutic targets for morphine tolerance.

Comprehensive lncRNAs expression profiling reveals the potential role of lncRNAs in systemic lupus erythematosus [Human LncRNA Array v3.0]

(Submitter supplied) long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are novel non-coding RNAs which play an important part in regulating gene transcription and translation, modulating protein function, and acting as competing endogeneous RNA. Moveover, there is increasing evidence showing that aberrant expressions of lncRNAs are implicated in various cancers. Yet, their roles in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a prototypical autoimmune disease, remain unknown. more...

LncRNA Expression Profile and Identification of Novel LncRNA Biomarkers for Diagnosing Coronary Artery Disease

(Submitter supplied) Dysregulation of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) has been proven to be involved in the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease (CAD). However, it remains to be extensively explored.Using microarray, we performed the transcriptome-wide lncRNA and mRNAs expression profile in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of 93 CAD patients and 48 healthy controls. Gene Ontology (GO) and pathway analysis for differentially expressed mRNAs was used to investigate underlying biological associations of differentially expressed lncRNAs and create path-net to depict interactions of significant pathways. more...
