Genome-wide mapping of immature erythrocyte transcribed chromosomal domains (F1-seq)

(Submitter supplied) Transcriptional regulation is impacted by multiple layers of genome organization. Here, we identified and mapped out all the transcriptionally active chromosomal domains in the chicken immature erythrocyte genome, including the known β- and α-globin domains, by combining a powerful chromatin fractionation method with next generation DNA and RNA sequencing.

Mapping of low-salt soluble chromatin identifies known and novel transcriptionally active genes in chicken erythrocytes

(Submitter supplied) Transcriptional regulation is regulated by the organization of the genome into chromatin compartments and domains. Here, we present the detailed characteristics, including location of nucleosome-free regions, of several novel transcriptionally active/poised chromatin compartments exhibiting a range of transcriptional activities. These chromatin patterns illustrate how the salt solubility profile of a genomic region aids in the annotation of genes expressed in erythroid cells and contributes to the identification of functional features such as regulatory regions.

Atypical chromatin structure of immune-related genes expressed in chicken erythrocytes [RNA-seq]

(Submitter supplied) Transcriptional regulation is impacted by multiple layers of genome organization. Here, we report that immune genes were associated with H3K4me3 and H3K27ac. In conjunction with next-generation DNA, RNA sequencing, chromatin immunoprecipitation-DNA sequencing and FAIRE sequencing, we identified the active chromosomal compartments and determined their structural signatures in relation to expression levels.

Genome-wide mapping of histone H3 lysine 4 trimethylation in Eucalyptus grandis developing xylem

(Submitter supplied) Histone modifications play an integral role in plant development, but have been poorly studied in woody plants. Investigating chromatin organization in wood-forming tissue and its role in regulating gene expression allows us to understand the mechanisms underlying cellular differentiation during xylogenesis (wood formation) and identify novel functional regions in plant genomes. However, woody tissue poses unique challenges for using high-throughput chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) techniques for studying genome-wide histone modifications in vivo. more...
