miRNA expression data in unstimulated and TGF-β1-stimulated lung fibroblasts

(Submitter supplied) Lung fibroblasts play an important role in extracellular matrix homeostasis and this process is mainly regulated by transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β). Hence, lung fibroblasts are postulated to play a crucial role in aberrant lung tissue repair and remodeling, which is a main factor in lung diseases like COPD. In this study, the effect of TGF-β1 on the miRNA expression in parenchymal lung fibroblasts is investigated.

Identifying microRNAs targeting WNT/β-catenin pathway in end-stage idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension

(Submitter supplied) Whole genome microRNA microarray expression profiling was employed as a discovery platform to identify microRNAs dysregulated in end-stage idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) patients. Lung tissue from seven IPAH patients and eight failed donor controls were subjected to microarray screening. Twenty-one miRNAs were identified dyeregulated in IPAH patients compared to controls. In miRNA real-time PCR validation, 22 IPAH patients and 22 control subjects were enrolled, including the 7 IPAH and 8 controls in microarray screening. more...

Deregulated MicroRNAs in Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts from Front Tumor Tissues of Lung Adenocarcinoma as Potential Predictors of Tumor Promotion

(Submitter supplied) Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote tumor progression through several mechanisms. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a key role in CAFs tumor-promoting properties, however, their role in CAFs from different topological areas in lung cancer progression remains unclear. This study aimed to characterize the miRNA expression profile of fibroblasts isolated from matched tumor front (F-CAFs), inner tumor (In-CAFs), and normal adjacent tissue (NFs) in lung adenocarcinoma, using microarray analysis and RT-qPCR. more...

Circulating microRNA signature as novel biomarkers for osteoarthritis development

(Submitter supplied) Introduction: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) in circulation have emerged as promising biomarkers. In this study we aimed to identify a circulating miRNA signature for osteoarthritis (OA) patients. Methods: Serum samples were collected from 12 primary OA patients and 12 healthy individuals and were screened using the Agilent Human miRNA Microarray. Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves were constructed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the deregulated miRNAs. more...

(Submitter supplied) miRNA profiles of the Young-MSC-MVs and Old-MSC-MVs were analyzed with a quantitative PCR (qPCR)-based array of the whole rat genome. Further analysis revealed the expression of miR-344a, miR-133b-3p, miR-294, miR-423-3p, and miR-872-3p was significantly downregulated in Old-MSC-MVs than in Young-MSC-MVs (p<0.05).

miR-29 targets in human fetal lung fibroblast IMR-90 cells

(Submitter supplied) TGFβ is one of most intensively studied regulators of extracellular matrix formation, and has been implicated in the development of pulmonary fibrosis in different models. However, little is know about the role of miRNAs in TGFβ mediated fibrogenic gene regulation. By using miRNA qRT-PCR array, we have identified miRNAs whose expression are regulated by TGFβ in IMR-90 cells. Among those down-regulated miRNAs are miR-29 family members. more...

Transcriptomic analysis of miR-19a-19b-20a subcluster-overexpressed fibroblasts in bleomycin-induced lung fibrosis

(Submitter supplied) Lung fibroblasts play a pivotal role in pulmonary fibrosis, a devastating lung diseases, by producing extracellular matrix. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) suppress a lot of genes posttranscriptionally, but the dynamics and the role of miRNAs in activated lung fibroblasts in fibrotic lung has been poorly understood. We found miR-19a, 19b and 20a subcluster expression increased in activated lung fibroblasts as the fibrosis progression. more...

Time-course global miRNA expression profiling on lung fibroblasts isolated from untreated, bleomycin-treated and silica-treated mice

To elucidate these problems, we performed global miRNA expression profiling of lung fibroblasts of bleomycin- and silica-induced fibrotic lungs

Microarray analysis to identify miRNA targetome of primary Burkitt lymphoma tumors in comparison to normal CD19+ B cells

(Submitter supplied) MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs involved in the posttranscriptional regulation of gene expression. Deregulated miRNA levels have been reported in Burkitt lymphoma (BL) compared to normal B cells and a number of miRNA target genes have been identified in BL cell lines. Here, we determined for the first time the miRNA targetomes of primary BL tumors in comparison with normal B cells. AGO2-RNA immunoprecipitation (AGO2-RIP) in two frozen diagnostic BL tissue samples and three CD19+ B-cell samples isolated from routinely removed tonsils revealed distinct miRNA targetomes of BL and normal B cells. more...
